Investment opportunities

Projects for joint assessment

WOGE welcomes discussions with governments and public entities seeking partners for energy, infrastructure and industrial projects in Africa.

We prioritise opportunities with a clear public sponsor, defined purpose and a basis for technical and commercial assessment.

What we look for

  • Government-owned or publicly sponsored projects.
  • Alignment with WOGE's strategic sectors.
  • Potential for public-private partnership or another appropriate investment model.
  • A clear concept note and identifiable development requirements.
  • A preferred investment scale above USD 100 million.

Information for an initial discussion

A project summary should identify the project name, sponsoring entity, country and location, sector, objective and proposed scope. It should also describe the current stage of preparation, available studies, indicative investment requirement and intended partnership model where these are known.

For projects with an established commercial concept, information on expected users, revenue or the source of payment will help the assessment.

Please share a non-confidential summary first. Arrangements for exchanging sensitive documents can be discussed separately.

What happens next

WOGE reviews the initial information to determine whether further discussion is appropriate. Opportunities that align with the partnership's interests can progress to member review and discussions with a potential lead member.

Submitting an enquiry does not constitute an investment commitment or an agreement to develop the project.
